Associate Professor Sheila Myers received the 2017 Best Book of Fiction Literary Award from the Adirondack Center for Writing for her novel “The Night is Done: A Durant Family Saga,” which was the third book in a trilogy Myers wrote about the historic Durant family, their business ventures, and their connection to the Adirondacks.

Fulton’s Lions, Kiwanis, Noon Rotary and Sunrise Rotary clubs have partnered with tournament title sponsors Eastern Shore Associates Insurance and Mass Mutual – New York State, for the ‘Swing 4 Service’ Ninth Annual Golf Classic, Aug. 18, at Emerald Crest Golf Course, Palermo.

“Learn and Lunch” features a half hour educational program followed by a free lunch that includes soup, salad and dessert served in the Grand Dining Room. This month, Patti Chipman from Oswego County Hospice and Elena Twiss from Friends of Oswego County Hospice will discuss what resources are available locally to those diagnosed with a life-limiting condition opting for comfort and palliative care services.

Any residents of the Oswego area that would like to make their food dollars go farther may order August Food Sense packages until noon on August 10. All Oswego area residents may use the program.

Members of the Fulton High School class of 1953 will gather Wednesday, July 18, to celebrate the 65th anniversary of their graduation. The reunion will be held at the Tavern on the Lock, South First Street, Fulton, beginning at 3 o’clock with appetizers and a cash bar.
