The Oswego County Department of Social Services will host an informational meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. June 5, at the DSS office, 100 Spring St., Mexico, for people who are interested in becoming foster or adoptive parents.
My dog, Rusty, is my best pal, but he has a terrible habit of stealing things – socks, remotes, towels, magazines, whatever. When I tell him to stop, it turns into a huge chase scene with me yelling at him to put whatever it is down, which he never does. Unless I can corner him and force him to give it back to me I have to wait until he gets distracted by something else before I can (maybe) retrieve it.
Families who are interested in learning more about Camp Hollis are invited to an open house and information session from 1 to 4 p.m. June 10 at the camp, located at 40 Health Camp Road in the town of Oswego. Tours may also be scheduled by appointment for those unable to attend the open house.

Hundreds of pieces of work, from kindergarten through twelfth grade, filled the hallways of Hannibal High School and the gymnasium was transformed into an art gallery, as the school celebrated its first district-wide art show.
Pets can sometimes make the best reading partners. That is what Minetto Elementary School first graders have found, thanks to a partnership with PAWS of CNY, an organization dedicated to educating the community on benefits of animal-assisted therapy.
