Area students can learn more this summer about healthcare careers by taking part in many hands-on activities at Oswego Hospital’s MASH Camp. This year’s MASH Camp (Medical Academy of Science and Health) is open to students entering the eighth or ninth grades in the fall of 2018.
Volunteer “patients” are needed from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 28 to simulate receiving a vaccine at the Oswego County Health Department’s annual public health drill. The drill involves setting up an immunization clinic, registering patients and simulating immunizations at the Nick Sterio Public Health Clinic, 70 Bunner St., Oswego.
In the Northern New York State High School VEX Championship, GRB’s Team 6911A finished the technology qualification rounds in fifth place, with five wins and two losses.
This year’s Substance Awareness Family Education Fair will be held at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center at 26 E. First St.. The event has been growing and will now fill the new larger venue. The fair will have free fun activities, craft projects, games and prizes, education and awareness – something for everyone.

We know you agree that dog fighting as a “sport” is one of the most monstrous forms of animal cruelty. orcing animals to try to kill each other for entertainment or gaming for profit has no place in our society. Fortunately, the laws to forbid and punish the perpetrators of this crime get stronger every year. But there is a related problem. Dogs seized as living evidence of the crime can end up in legal limbo for months or even years as court cases drag on.
