With spring break for colleges around the corner, some SUNY Oswego students are taking the opportunity to serve communities in need of helping hands. SUNY Oswego offers multiple alternative break trips through its Office of Community Services. During these breaks, students typically volunteer to travel in order to work with not-for-profit organizations to help communities with a variety of challenges.
More today about the trend toward banning sales of dogs from commercial breeding facilities in pet stores. First of all, here is what we are not talking about – we are not talking about individual breeders who breed their dogs at home or in local kennels and then sell them from their own establishments. There are a number of such breeders in Oswego County and they typically do a fine job of promoting the breed they specialize in and making sure parent dogs are well cared for and that that puppies go to good homes.
Oswego Health welcomes breast surgeon Lisa Lai, MD, who will provide community members with a range of services to its General Surgery Associates practice. Dr. Lai will provide care to patients needing breast care in suite 1700 of the Fulton Medical Office Building and surgical care in Oswego Hospital’s advanced surgery center.

The Fulton City School District has announced open kindergarten and universal pre-kindergarten registration, beginning March 24. As part of the annual FCSD Parent University event, on-site registration will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 24 at G. Ray Bodley High School.

Booboo is a quiet but playful and totally beautiful medium haired ginger tiger and white lady. She was timid at first when she came to our office, but is quickly gaining confidence here. Like many well-behaved (i.e. not rowdy) cats she may need time and patience to get comfortable.
SUNY Oswego second-year music major Christopher Spinelli, who has been playing piano since age 3, will demonstrate his skills among professional musicians for “Pocket Concertos,” a concert at 7:30 p.m. March 21, in Sheldon Hall ballroom. The concert, which features orchestral reductions, is part of the college’s Ke-Nekt Chamber Music Series.
The Oswego State Blueline Club is pleased to bring the campus and community together with Rockin’ the River with The Billionaires band on April 7. The band is made up of lead singer Anna White, guitarist Rob Hoston, keyboardist Kimo Cortini, bassist Andy Jordan and former Laker hockey player Daryl Hunt on drums. Hunt, a 1981 graduate of SUNY Oswego who played goaltender.
