Oswego Players’ Actress Through the Years
A small town in Ohio wasn’t big enough for Oswego Players’ actress Banna Rubinow. She wanted something much more. Born in 1949, Rubinow lived a solitary life during her childhood, “Partly by choice, partly not by choice,” she said. But for her, it was a great opportunity. She discovered early on her thirst and hunger for reading. She’d read anything she could get her hands on — especially plays.
Sandra Scott Travels: How Sweet It Is! Right In The Port City of Oswego
John and I write a chocolate column, so when we are bouncing around the United States and the rest of the world we are always on the lookout for chocolate-based stories. We have enjoyed a $15 all-you-can-eat chocolate buffet in Hanoi, visited the Chocolate Museum in Bruges, a plantation in St. Lucia, and even a chocolate art studio in Prague. They were all great but sometimes we forget to check out chocolate places close to home. We recently discovered the “Man in the Moon Candies” chocolate store which is only a few miles from our home.

Sandra Scott Travels: Walk The Same Streets Walked By Christopher Columbus
Sometimes we are very lucky when we book a hotel and that was the case with our hotel in Santo Domingo. The Hotel Atarazana is a boutique hotel that was once a private home but the best part was its location in the colonial center of Santa Domingo so it was a short walk to all the places we wanted to visit. I think it is amazing to walk the same streets walked by Christopher Columbus.
