At a recent Fulton Sunrise meeting, Rotarian Dan Farfaglia introduced Ellen Marshall, owner and instructor of Off Broadway Dance Center. Teaching children to dance for 18 years now, Off Broadway Dance Center is proud to have more than 175 students each year. Dance classes include Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Lyrical, Hip-Hop and Creative Dance.
The Country Cruizers Car Club presented a donation of $1,000 to the Hannibal Chapter of Dollars for Scholars for two scholarships. The Hannibal chapter raises money through various fundraising activities, most notably the annual Ducks over the Dam race, which will be held July 19.

They know that cracking the windows does not prevent deadly heat buildup inside a car and that even on a relatively mild 70 degree day, the inside of a car will quickly reach 90 degrees. Herkimer College awarded academic honors to 480 students for the spring 2015 semester. Of those students awarded honors, 184 were named to the President’s List for earning a grade point average of 3.80 or higher.
For the 28th consecutive year, Oswego Harborfest will bring thousands of festival-goers to town from July 23 through July 26. However, as always the festival success depends not only on the talent, entertainment and food, but also the contributions of volunteer individuals who are an integral part of the annual event. The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists the bridge carrying Route 13 over an abandoned New York Central Railroad line, located just east of the village of Williamstown, will be closed to all traffic beginning on Friday, June 26. The closure is expected to remain in place until the end of October.
An informal tasting was held on June 11 at the Oswego Farmers’ Market and featured five municipal water districts. The town of Richland swept the competition to earn the title of Oswego County’s best-tasting drinking water.
The Oswego County Department of Social Services has launched a new initiative, The Peoples’ Produce Project, to aid local residents. Four raised garden beds were constructed and installed at the DSS building on Spring Street in Mexico last month. These beds contain over a dozen vegetables and herbs.
