Artist, friends to display illustrations at Oswego State Downtown

SUNY Oswego will feature the illustrations of alumnus and faculty member Aaron Z. Lee and his friends in an exhibition to open Sept. 21, at Oswego State Downtown. A free public reception for the artists will open “What Have We Done? Illustrations by Aaron Z. Lee + Friends” from 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 21 at the gallery, a branch of the College Store at West First and Bridge streets in Oswego.

Greater Pulaski Community Fund Annual Fundraising Campaign Begins

The Greater Pulaski Community Endowment Fund will launch its annual fundraising match campaign this fall with a goal of reaching and surpassing $15,000 in donations to be matched by the John Ben Snow Memorial Trust. The trust has pledged to provide a dollar-for-dollar match, up to $15,000, of contributions received on or before December 15, 2013 yielding a potential for $30,000 in funding to support local projects.

Port City Roller Derby to host doubleheader Sept. 14

Port City Roller Derby will carry a six-game winning streak into its season-ending doubleheader on Sept. 14, in Oswego’s Crisafulli Rink. Doors will open at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. whistle for the event, titled Pier Pressure. Port City’s A team, the Breakwall Bombshells, will headline the evening with a rematch against the Capital City Derby Dolls Dolly Rogers from Ottawa.
