Great Eastern Whiteout Antique, Vintage Snowmobile Show Returns To Fulton

The year was 2001 when two vintage snowmobile buddies Bill Monette and Joe Racheal decided to put on a vintage snowmobile show and race at the Oswego County Fairgrounds in Sandy Creek. The idea came about as a result of a long-time show called The Eastern Ride-in held at Borio’s restaurant on Onieda Lake a regional event organized by the Vintage Snowmobile Club of America.

Fulton Seeks State Designation For Oswego River and Lake Neatahwanta

A local resolution has requested the addition of Lake Neatahwanta and the Oswego River to NYS Department of State’s listing of Coastal Waterways and Designated Inland Waterways. The resolution, unanimously passed through the Fulton Common Council, is the first step to receiving the state designation. If approved, Fulton’s waterfronts will join a listing of eleven Coastal Waterways and more than 120 Designated Inland Waterways.

Fulton Block Builders Informational Meeting Explains 2018 Block Challenge

There will be a community informational session to answer your questions about the 2018 Fulton Block Builder (FBB) application process on Wednesday January 17th at River Vista Conference Center, 810 South 1st Street, Fulton NY at 6:00 PM. There will be a short presentation on how the program works and plenty of time to get all your questions answered. 22 distinct blocks and 127 properties participated in 2017. 2018 is sure to be another amazing year for this program and FBB wants everyone to have a chance to become involved.

Fulton Board of Education Solicits Letters of Interest For Vacant Seat

Paula Hayden resigned from her position as a board member in December 2017. Since then, the remaining six board members have grappled with how to move forward in handling the vacant seat. They were split in deciding between leaving the seat vacant and appointing a replacement. At Tuesday’s (Jan 9) regular meeting, the six remaining members continued to debate the situation. Ultimately, the board settled at a decision to solicit letters of interest from anyone interested that also fits the necessary criteria. The board will act on an appointment at the next board meeting on Tuesday, Jan 23.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Officially Welcomes Fulton ALDI Store

A plentiful crowd filled the area’s newest ALDI store as a ribbon cutting ceremony officially welcomed the international grocery chain to Fulton. One of more than 1,600 ALDI stores throughout the United States, the Fulton store located at 555 S. Fourth St. boasts a fresh, modern look with priority on providing quality, affordable products to shoppers. Mayor Ronald Woodward welcomed ALDI to Fulton, a project that was “a long time coming” before store manager, Todd Moore cut the ribbon and declared the store officially open. “I feel relieved, glad, and now I’m looking forward to developing the remaining 22 acres of that site and I think Aldi will be a great draw for others,” Mayor Woodward told Oswego County Today.

Fulton Block Builders Fundraising Campaign Begins with ‘Firsts’ for 2018

The Fundraising Campaign for 2018 has started off with several momentous firsts. Universal Metal Works launched the first business support for the grassroots revitalization project, Fulton Block Builders (FBB) 2018 campaign.  Legislator James Karasek, representing the 22nd District in the Oswego County Legislature is the first public official to pledge financial support to the FBB 2018 Fundraising Campaign. Dennis and Kellie Merlino make the first community member contribution in support of the 2018 Fulton Block Builder program. The Merlinos went to the Fulton Block Builder website and made a $10.00 monthly recurring contribution.
