The Friends of Great Bear and the Central New York Land Trust are pleased to announce that Fulton Savings Bank has made a generous, “trail-blazing” pledge of $20,000 to the Campaign to Save Whiskey Island and Northern Great Bear.
For the first time in eight years the Oswego County Legislative body received a pay increase, but rather than keep this for himself, Legislator Karasek decided to donate his entire raise to the Fulton Block Builders (FBB.)

The Fulton Common Council heard public comment in three separate hearings for the proposed local law to amend city code sections: streets and sidewalks; brush, grass, and weeds; and property conservation.
Block Builders fundraising has been so successful that the deadline for Pre-Applications is being extended to Friday, April 14, 2017 to accommodate more blocks wishing to participate.
The third annual Parent University was “phenomenal,” said Geri Geitner, the director of student support services at Fulton City School District. “The best part for me, was to see everyone having fun. To see that school is fun, learning is fun, and to see parents and children getting to enjoy that together,” she said. The event, in its third year, has grown bigger and better with each passing year. Saturday, (April 1) G. Ray Bodley High School hosted the event with five hours of free family fun.
Mark Southwick presented Linda Eagan with a check for $1,000 to support the Fulton Block Builder (FBB) matching grant program. “Huhtamaki believes it is important to do the right thing by each other and our customers: including the communities where we work and live. FBB’s mission to Restore City Pride -One Block at a Time is a program Huhtamaki is proud to support,” said Southwick. The FBB Block Challenge is a revitalization program that encourages groups of neighbors to collaborate on exterior improvements to their properties in order to build confidence in Fulton’s neighborhoods and inspire others to reinvest.
Fulton City School District officials have presented the summary of a one year progress report after being labeled a focus district by the NYS Education Department last year. For FCSD specifically, the district attained focus status based on the elementary and middle school ELA and Math combined performance index for the Hispanic subgroup of students. Additionally, G. Ray Bodley High School was labeled a focus school based on the ELA and math combined performance index for the economically disadvantaged subgroup of students.

Fulton City School District officials invite district families to a day of free family fun at Parent University to be held Saturday (April 1) from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at G. Ray Bodley High School located at 6 William Gillard Drive. The event is entirely free and will provide a full day of fun, learning, and opportunities. Similar to last year, transportation is available upon reservation and supervised activities for children ages 4-12 are available throughout the event.
