The NYS Financial Restructuring Board for Local Governments’ six-month time frame is up and the city of Fulton is waiting for the final report on what, if any, assistance is available for the financially strapped community. While Mayor Ron Woodward was unable to share all of the details in the submitted draft report, he discussed with Oswego County Today one of the measures he hopes the city can use, if the need arises.

On Sunday, at about 1:10 a.m., Fulton Police charged Michael L. Myers, 47 of South Twelfth Street in Fulton with cocaine possession with intent to sell. He was observed allegedly urinating in front of the 7-Eleven store at 201 W. Broadway. A police officer stopped and placed him under arrest. Upon a search, four individual baggies of an off-white powdery substance were found in Myers’ pants pocket, according to police. The substance reportedly field tested positive for the presence of cocaine.

As concerned community members question the status of demolition at the former Nestle site and ALDI Inc.’s plan to potentially bring a food store to Fulton, city leaders shared some disconcerting news on Tuesday (June 3). “The property owner is AWOL,” Mayor Ron Woodward said during Tuesday’s council meeting. “He won’t answer any calls. … ALDI’s still says they’re going through with it.”
More than 300 people attended State Senator Patty Ritchie’s annual Oswego County Job Fair today (June 4) at the Fulton War Memorial. Those in attendance were able to meet with nearly 50 employers, many of whom were looking to hire immediately. Forty-eight employers participated in the annual job fair.
Collectively, those employers were hoping to fill more than 100 jobs.
State Police reportedly have located Louis Gaetano.
He had last been seen on Monday, June 2, at his residence on Roosevelt Road, Cleveland, NY.
One person was arrested recently by the Oswego County Drug Task Force after a joint investigation conducted by members of the task Ffrce and the City of Fulton Police Department. A search warrant was conducted on May 20 and reportedly resulted in the recovery of 28 bags of heroin in glassine envelopes and/or plastic packaging and a morphine tablet.
A search warrant was conducted on May 29 and resulted in the recovery of 84 bags of heroin, Fentanyl Patches, marihuana, unlawfully possessed prescription pills and crack cocaine along with digital scales and packaging material, according to police.
