For over 20 years fifth graders in the Fulton City School District have been part of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program. Fulton is the last school district in the area that still has a DARE program. City government, the school district, and the police department all believe strongly in the program and work hard to keep it going.
Police say Talk to Me Communications located at 190 County Route 57, town of Schroeppel, appears to have been a front for the illicit cocaine business.The owner was arrested on felony drug charges.

Nina Jackowski and her sister, Nicole, used to joke about owning a dance studio when they grew up. The sisters have been dancing for almost 13 years, first at Joan Ezzo’s studio in Fulton, and then as Officers and Choreographers for SUNY Oswego’s Del Sarte Dance Club.
Well, it’s no joke anymore.
New York State is poised to pass an on-time budget for the third year in a row.
Governor Andrew Cuomo and leaders of the state Legislature emerged Wednesday night from their private negotiations to announce not only a budget deal for this year, but the outlines of a budget for 2014.
“We’re always the villains,” said Dennis Sugrue, head mixed martial arts coach at Tai Kai Martial Arts. The villains he’s referring to are Doug Miller and Dustin Whalen, two natives of Oswego County hoping to make names for themselves in a sport that’s swiftly gaining popularity.
The catch is that professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is illegal in New York State.
On Tuesday, the New York State Police BCI in Fulton arrested Paul C. Nowakowski, 19, of 454 Chesbro Road in the town of Schroeppel for 1 count of second-degree rape (Class D Felony), two counts of endangering the welfare of a child (Class A Misdemeanor) and one count of sexual misconduct (Class A Misdemeanor).
