Deputies with the Oswego County Sheriff’ s Office responded to investigate a traffrîc collision reported to the Oswego County 911 Center at 5:24 this afternoon (April 29). One driver was hospitalized.

State Police say they tried to pull a car over on County Rt. 12 in Schroeppel at about 10:00 p.m. after a check revealed a suspended vehicle registration.  The car didn’t stop.  Instead, it sped up and headed for the village of Phoenix.

The New York State Police in Fulton apprehended a wanted fugitive from Onondaga County following a vehicle pursuit late tonight (April 27). Troopers attempted to stop a Pontiac Grand Am on County Route 12 in the town of Schroeppel at approximately 10 p.m. for a suspended registration.

Following an extensive investigation, Fulton Police investigators arrested Peter J. Maliszewski, 40 of Canastota, and Joseph Fetkiw Jr., 35 of West Third Street,  Fulton, in connection with several felonies, including robbery, burglary, assault, and grand larceny.

The City of Fulton held its annual police and fire awards ceremony Wednesday evening,  a chance to thank officers, firefighters and others for their efforts in fighting crime and saving lives.

Mayor Ron Woodward applauded the city firemen and police officers, who have had to cope with budget cuts and recently accepted pay freezes.  “Even though they’re strapped more now than I’ve seen in the 20 some-odd years I’ve been around here, they’re not complaining.  They understand.  They care about Fulton and they want to make the quality of life in Fulton better than it was,” he said.
