You probably didn’t need data to prove it, but there’s proof that Oswego County residents are among the poorest in the state.
Data from the federal Bureau of Economic Analysis shows county residents live in one of the ten counties that earn the least per capita income.

Hannibal Board Members Adopt Budget
After about a half dozen budget resolutions came before the Hannibal Board of Education on Thursday night only to sputter and die due to lack of board support – including one to not approve a budget – a budget figure was finally agree upon. On the seventh try, the board voted 5-3 to adopt a $26,170,128 spending plan for the 2011-12 school year.

Hannibal Man Provides Inspiration to Others by Continuing Army Career After Ostomy
The U.S. Army sends us this story today, about Army Chief Warrant Officer 4 Bob Cuyler of Hannibal. It’s amazing he’s still in the Army, considering that he had to have his entire colon removed. Cuyler now wears an ostomy bag, tied to his body by a tube. He thought he might be discharged after the surgery. Instead, his determination proved that he’s not only good enough for the Army, and he’s not only good enough for combat, but that his comeback and determination have proven to be an inspiration for others.
