Landers Gets Prison Time for Daughter’s Death

Sara Landers this morning received a sentence of 1 1/3 to 4 years in prison for the death of her daughter last year.
Landers left her daughter in a closed camper trailer on a hot day last July 5. Nine month old Reba died from the sweltering heat inside the trailer.
Landers pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide.
Man Who Allegedly Tried To Run Down Cop Rejects Plea Deal
An Oswego Town man who allegedly lead police on a high-speed chase last fall, attempting at one point to run over an officer, has rejected a plea bargain. He would have faced 3.5 years in state prison, 3.5 years of probation and restitution. Now, Peter Losurdo III could face more jail time if convicted.

Matthew J. Parker, 51, of 217 S. Third St., Fulton, was arrested on Jan. 21 following an investigation by the City of Fulton Police Department.

Unemployment in Oswego County is Upstate’s Highest
Unemployment in Oswego County ended 2010 where it began — with one in every nine people out of a job.
The jobless rate for December, 2010 was 11.1%, up sharply from November, when the jobless rate was 10%. That’s the highest jobless rate in all of Upstate New York, and second-highest in the state, behind the Bronx’ 12% unemployment rate.
