The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a winter weather advisory for snow, which is in effect from 2 am to 6 pm EST Monday. Low pressure will move northeast from the Ohio Valley and cross Western New York Monday morning, reaching northern New England Monday night. It will spread a steady snow across the region beginning late tonight and continuing through midday Monday before tapering off for a time during the afternoon.
Snow will redevelop again later Monday afternoon ahead of an approaching cold front. Snowfall totals will be in the 3 to 6 inch range from late tonight through Monday with locally higher amounts on the Tug Hill. winds will be light tonight, but increase later Monday.
Additional significant lake effect snows are possible Monday night.
