Fulton Common Council meetings are likely to be a little less positive from now on, now that Bob Weston’s 16 year career as an Alderman is over. They’re also likely to be shorter.
Weston announced earlier this year he would not seek reelection as Alderman from the city’s third ward. A quick special meeting on Tuesday was the last hurrah of a political career that he said began by accident.

A broad area of moderate to heavy lake effect snow over much of the eastern Lake Ontario region is expected to shift to the east and southeast through late evening as an arctic cold front crosses the region.
Heavy snowfall stretching from near Pulaski north to Adams, Barnes Corners, Fort Drum, and Croghan will move east across the Tug Hill region into Lowville and Harrisville. Additional moderate to heavy snow may also expand into central and eastern Oswego County from Mexico to Williamstown and into the southern portion of Lewis County through 10:30 pm. Expect snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour in the most intense snowfall. Roads will be snow covered and slippery.
West winds will shift to the northwest and increase through late evening with gusts up to 35 mph. This will produce increasing amounts of blowing and drifting snow, especially in open areas such as Route 12 between Lowville and Watertown.
Snow will redevelop again later Monday afternoon ahead of an approaching cold front. Snowfall totals will be in the 3 to 6 inch range from late tonight through Monday with locally higher amounts on the Tug Hill. winds will be light tonight, but increase later Monday.
Additional significant lake effect snows are possible Monday night.
