Schools & Unions Sue Gov. Over His Plan To Withhold Some Aid

Fulton School District Plans Process For Building Its Next Budget

The Fulton school district has set up its calendar for building its next budget.

A committee will create drafts of the budget, which Superintendent Bill Lynch will bring before the Board of Education for its review and comments. All school budgets in the state go before voters on May 18, 2010.

Wednesday’s Weather: Update: Lake Effect Snow Warning Till 9:00 p.m.

UPDATED 3:30 pm: Winds coming from the northwest will drive a band of heavy snow fully inland, and Oswego County will be the eastern edge of it.  Snowfall of 1 to 2 inches an hour is possible, with more in some areas.  As much as 9 inches of snow is possible by the time the storm subsides late tonight.  We’re under a Lake Effect Snow Warning. Fulton Aldermen Enact New Budget Amidst Discussion of Police and Fire Overtime Costs

Fulton City Aldermen Tuesday approved a budget for 2010 that raises spending about $100,000 but contains no tax increase.

“When you consider that over the past six years, our city has suffered the loss of the Nestle Company, the Fulton Cogeneration Company and the A. L. Lee Memorial Hospital most recently, I feel we are fortunate to have been able to keep taxes as stable as they have been,” Mayor Ron Woodward said in a brief address at the start of the public hearing on the budget.
