Fulton Police Involved In Standoff
A 10 hour standoff on Cayuga St. in Fulton is over.
A Sheriff’s Department SWAT team fired tear gas canisters into a home at 512 Cayuga St. to flush out a man who police said was holding a woman at knifepoint.

Oswego Industries Earns Contract From US Defense Supply for Coveralls
The white coveralls you see in the picture at left mean more protection for defense workers and more jobs in Oswego County. Oswego Industries, Inc. of Fulton has earned a contract to produce the coveralls for the US Defense Supply. They have to be made to very specific standards. Oswego Industries will be hiring people to make the coveralls. Find out more when you click to read the story.

UPDATE: ADVISORY LIFTED. Travel Advisory Posted For City Of Fulton Sunday
The City of Fulton has issued a Travel Advisory and Fulton Police recommend no unnecessary travel in and around the City of Fulton. When travel is necessary extreme caution is urged. During the past day steady snowfall combined with occasional blowing snow has made hazardous travel conditions. City Department of Public Works crews are in the process of clearing streets however the rate of snowfall is making the task difficult and in some areas roadways are slick. Police also remind persons in the City of Fulton that on-street parking is prohibited from 1:30 AM to 5:30 AM. Violators will be ticketed and may be towed to help facilitate snow removal.

Weston Ends 16 Years On Fulton Common Council With Praise And Thanks
Fulton Common Council meetings are likely to be a little less positive from now on, now that Bob Weston’s 16 year career as an Alderman is over. They’re also likely to be shorter.
Weston announced earlier this year he would not seek reelection as Alderman from the city’s third ward. A quick special meeting on Tuesday was the last hurrah of a political career that he said began by accident.
Investment Firm Completes Purchase of Birds Eye Foods
The world’s biggest private equity company has completed its purchase of Birds Eye Foods, including the Birds Eye Fulton plant. The sale to Blackstone Group‘s Pinnacle Foods Group cost $1.3 billion. The fate of the Fulton plant or its seven other food processing factories is not known.
