A group of seventh graders is on a mission. On Thursday, the students took part in the annual County Government Day. The students, representing schools from all across the county, sat with the legislators and took an active role in the meeting.

Mayor Billy Barlow announces the appointment of Phillip Cady to the city of Oswego Zoning Board of Appeals. Cady was born and raised in Minetto and has lived in the city of Oswego since 1996.

The grant will support the Oswego-Fulton farmers’ markets capacity building project, which includes a new marketing campaign and equipment upgrades designed to attract attendees and grow the markets entertainment, educational programs, and vendor offerings.

On Monday, May 6, at 8:49 p.m., State Police in Pulaski responded to the area of County Route 22 and Barber Road in the town of Albion for a one-car crash. Jacklyn R. Muolo was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is continuing.

Oswego County residents who would like to receive emergency notifications through their wireless phones are reminded to sign up for the Hyper-Reach Broadcast Notification Service through Oswego County’s E-911 Emergency Communications Department.

The Oswego County Historical Society will host its annual meeting presentation on May 19 at 1:30 p.m. in the community room of the historic Oswego Public Library at 120 E. Second St. The event is free and open to the public.

In 2017, the Port of Oswego suffered more than $6.5 million in damage to facilities. Currently, lake levels – according the NOAA water gauge, which is located at the port, is 247.7 feet.
