Sheriff’s Office: Mexico Student Hit By Vehicle Dies

The Sheriff’s Office today (August 3) identified the pedestrian involved in Wednesday’s crash on Norman Avenue in Mexico. He is Gary Witkovsky a 14-year-old who was a student of the Mexico School District. He was pronounced brain dead at 1:35 pm on August 2 at a Syracuse hospital, according to police.

University Police Makes Motor Vehicle Felony Arrest

According to a press release today (August 1), Mary Elizabeth Castillo, 47, of Merced, California, was charged with driving while intoxicated with a previous DWI conviction and with aggravated DWI for suspected driving while intoxicated and having passengers in the car younger than the age of 16, both Class E felonies.
