Mexico Historical Society, Mexico Town Museum Imbroglio In The Hands Of Attorneys

The Mexico Historical Society, the caretaker of museum’s artifacts for the 40 plus years since the transfer of the original collection to the society from the Mexico High School Museum, has been unable to open the museum due to a dispute with the Town of Mexico, owner of the museum building.

State Police Investigating Drowning Incident In Oswego River

On Sunday, July 22, at approximately 8:50 p.m., State Police responded to the area of 187 Millard Bassett Road in the town of Granby for a possible drowning. The victim’s identity is not being released at this time until positive identification can be made. An autopsy will be conducted to determine an official cause of death. The investigation is continuing.

Fox Attacks Dog in Albion; Health Department Warns Residents of Rabid Fox

The Oswego County Health Department announced today (July 20), that a gray fox captured in the town of Albion along Albion Cross Road has tested positive for rabies. The animal approached a dog on a porch and attacked on Saturday, July 14. Two people were also involved and are currently being treated. The dog is up-to-date on his rabies vaccinations and received a booster shot.
