City of Oswego Wins Big in REDC Grant Awards
The award includes a $245,077 grant for the installation of the Seneca Street Neighborhood Bikeway project, $68,000 to conduct a feasibility study for developing a multipurpose athletic center, $590,000 for Westside Waterfront improvements and $40,000 to develop a strategy to implement public art throughout Downtown Oswego as the city works to allocate the already awarded $10 million in Downtown Revitalization funding from earlier this year.

Governor Cuomo Deploys State Resources To Prepare For Lake Effect Snowstorm
Governor Andrew Cuomo today (Dec. 7) directed the Office of Emergency Management, State Police, the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services, the Office of Fire Prevention and Control, the Department of Transportation and the Thruway Authority to enhance monitoring and prepare to deploy resources for lake effect snow that will impact parts of Western and Northern New York into Central New York and the Mohawk Valley through Saturday morning.

The Oswego Education Center’s move into a section of Leighton Elementary School is getting closer to becoming a reality. A tentative agreement between the city and town of Oswego regarding connecting the Ontario Heights Sewer District into the Oswego City sewer system was heavily debated at Monday night’s Administrative Services Committee. However, after nearly two hours of talk, the issue remains unresolved. The committee took no action.

Toys For Tots of Oswego County will hold its annual Tunes For Tots this month. The event will take place December 14 at The American Foundry, 246 W. Seneca St. from 5 to 10 p.m. Toys For Tots’ sole purpose is to provide brand new unwrapped, non-violent toys and new books to the many children of the community.
