Summary of CNY Tourism Regional Visitor Study Presented at TAC

“The goal of study was to develop a strategic regional tourism plan and apply for grant funding in the future,” said Janet Clerkin, tourism and public information coordinator for the Oswego County Tourism Office. “This project will give us information on where our visitors come from, how long they stay, how much money they spend, reasons for visiting, and more.” Recently, Clerkin shared some of the results of that study with the county’s Tourism Advisory Council.

There are two types of situations in which these charges happen; either children/people left in a vehicle or an animal left in a vehicle when experiencing extreme temperatures, he said.

The hot and humid weather took a turn in the afternoon Tuesday, giving people the cool down they were looking for. The rain started to pour and it had no intention of slowing up for quite some time. Heavy rain and damaging winds swept through the area early Tuesday evening. “We received 0.45-inch of rain from 5 to 5:15 p.m.,” said Bill Gregway, local observer for the National Weather Service. “Then from about 6:30 to 7 p.m. we got another 0.10-inch.”
