Oswego County Drug Task Force Announces Meth Lab Arrests

The Oswego County Drug Task Force with the assistance of the New York State Police Special Operations Response Team, New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team, Oswego County Sheriff’s Office Special Weapons and Tactics Team and the Oswego City Police Department’s Special Response Team executed a methamphetamine related search warrant at 1911/ 1913 Mexico St. in the town of Albion. Six people were arrested as a result.

Police: Elmira Man Sent Oswego County Minor Sexually Explicit Photos – Videos

On Thursday (March 5), members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office, Chemung County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI responded to 1002 Laurel St., Elmira, where Joshua Paul Vandegrift was located.

Vandegrift was later charged at the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office with two counts of second-degree disseminating indecent material to minors and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. The charges stem from the collaborative investigation beginning on Jan. 6, as the result of communications occurring over Facebook with the victim, who he knew to be a 12-year-old girl, police said.

Although it should only be used when a voice call is not an option, people in Oswego County can now text emergency calls to the Oswego County 9-1-1 center. County Legislature Chairman Kevin Gardner (District 13, New Haven), said that the major cell phone carriers serving Oswego County recently installed and tested equipment to verify that the text-to-9-1-1 system works. “We have been working since the fall to have new equipment installed and make sure it’s operational for Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile customers,” Gardner said

Oaks Calls For Release Of Proposed School Aid Numbers

Assemblyman Robert C. Oaks is calling on Gov. Andrew Cuomo to release his projected 2015-16 school funding data, information that is vital as school districts across the state face a March 1 deadline to submit preliminary tax levy data to the state. In an unprecedented move, the governor withheld the data from his Executive Budget proposal until, or unless, the State Legislature enacts his new education policies.
