Approximately 500 people, young and old (including one who traveled 3,000 miles to get here), turned out Saturday for the annual Oswego County Autism Taskforce’s “Walk for Autism.” The group seeks to provide information that enhances the lives of those touched by Autism Spectrum Disorders in the community. The event featured children’s activities, entertainment, light refreshments, autism information and an organized walk.

Some Oswego High School students got a jump on honing their interview skills Wednesday in the school’s Media Center. Dozens of local professionals volunteered to conduct mock interviews to help prepare students for college and job interviews. The students handled the situation very well, they said.
Four persons have submitted petitions to seek a position on the Oswego City School District Board of Education. (Incumbent) Thomas DeCastro, Sean Madden, Lynda Sereno and Francis Zaryski presented their petitions prior to the deadline on April 25. Incumbent Francis Hoefer decided not to seek re-election.
