Oswego Council Returns Funds To Fire Department Budget

The funding had originally been earmarked for the fire department to help cover the expense of them taking on the responsibilities of the code enforcement office. While councilors agreed to transfer the funds now, they also put the fire department on notice that it has to continue to find ways to keep decreasing its amount of overtime in the future.

Man Reportedly Struck By Vehicle; Seriously Injured

A man suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a trauma center Saturday evening (June 20) after reportedly being struck by a vehicle. Oswego Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the vehicle vs. pedestrian accident at 9:37 p.m. on Saturday at the intersection of State Route 104 and George Street.

Christina’s Credits: Jurassic World – Inevitable Box Office Smash and Overly Dramatic

You would never know something troubling is around the corner when the film opens with shots of eggs hatching to the tune of menacing music. Great job, Jurassic World creators. Right away, the score gives the film a feeling of grandness. And for a while you’re swept up in it. The world is slightly futuristic and certainly has the wow factor that dinosaurs often bring. But the pacing is horrible.

Several Oswego County Sites will Celebrate Path through History Weekend June 20 – 21

From native American culture to Holocaust refugees, and the Oswego Lighthouse to genealogical research, several Oswego County heritage sites have signed up to participate in the I Love New York Path through History Weekend June 20 and 21. “Oswego County has a rich and colorful heritage and we are indebted to our local historians and historic sites for keeping that heritage alive,” said Janet Clerkin, Oswego County Tourism and Public Information Coordinator.
