Congressman John Katko today (Jan. 15) joined No Labels, a bipartisan congressional problem solvers group. The group’s membership consists of Democrats and Republicans from both the House and Senate who meet regularly to build trust across the aisle and to find common ground on issues before Congress.

The site VP leads a team of 900+ highly skilled employees and contractors and manages all aspects of plant operations. He replaces Chris Costanzo, who held the position for two years.

At its meeting Monday night, the Common Council moved forward with a program to support the use of solar power. Mayor Tom Gillen was authorized to execute an agreement with the CNY Regional Planning and Development Board for the Solarize Central New York Campaign.

State Senator Patty Ritchie announced she has secured $50,000 to help improve infrastructure in the town of New Haven. According to officials, capital funding secured by Senator Ritchie will be utilized to pave a currently unpaved parking lot that surrounds the town offices and the town highway department.

The results of a year-long infrastructure investment survey were released today (Jan. 14) by the American Great Lakes Ports Association and the Canadian Chamber of Marine Commerce. The purpose of the survey was to document the level of public and private sector investments being made throughout the navigation system. More than 600 entities, including vessel operators, ports, terminals, and government agencies were contacted. The survey quantifies investments made over the past five years (2009-2013), as well as amounts already committed for future years.
