Oswego Council Consider Tweaking Downtown Parking Policy
The committee approved removing the Midtown Plaza lots from the policy and OK’d other housekeeping details. They also tabled a change order request. The councilors want more details before paying for something one councilor says isn’t the city’s fault.

Water Plant Manager Floats Request For Upgrades
Due to new water contracts, increased sales, unmetered customers and the desire for new industries, the Port City’s water plant is approaching capacity, the manager said. He is asking the council to consider approving replacing some 40-year-old equipment among other upgrades.

Nicholas Fisher among 31 priests ordained to Legion of Christ in Rome
Nicholas Fisher, of Fulton, was among 31 men who were ordained to the priesthood by His Eminence Cardinal Velasio de Paolis, CS, Pontifical Delegate for the Legionaries of Christ on December 14, 2013, at the Papal Basilica of St. John Lateran, Rome, Italy. Of the 31 new priests, eight are American. Father Nicholas said he had the beginnings of a calling as young child living in New York State.

County Democratic Caucus Undergoes Metamorphosis
The Oswego County Legislature held its re-organizational meeting recently. Kevin Gardner was reappointed chairman. Linda Lockwood is the new vice chair. The Democratic Caucus re-named itself to reflect that not all of its members hail from the same political affiliation. The next meeting will be February 13.
