The Board of Education and the stakeholder committee have finished with the preliminary interview process leaving two candidates for the final interviews with the Board of Education. The two finalists are Benjamin Halsey and Anita Murphy.
The Salmon River International Sport Fishing Museum near Pulaski will celebrate its 10th year anniversary on October 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a special ceremony and a presentation at 1 p.m. about the past, current and future events of the museum.
THIS JUST IN: The New York State Department of Health today notified the Oswego County Health Department that more evidence of the West Nile virus was found in mosquitoes collected Sept. 12 in West Monroe. Oswego County Public Health Director Jiancheng Huang reminds residents to continue to be proactive in protecting themselves against mosquitoes to avoid infection of mosquito-borne viruses.
Only 125 musicians and color guard members from across the country are selected for this annual honor. Since 2008, the Army has selected a dozen OHS band members. The September 24 meeting of the Oswego City School District Board of Education was relatively routine. Prior to the beginning of the public portion of the meeting the board conducted a moment of silence for district employees who have recently passed away.

On September 30, the students within the Fulton City School District in grades UPK – 12 will have an early dismissal. Grades 7 – 12 will dismiss at 10:30 a.m. and morning Pre K – 6 will dismiss at 11:15 a.m. There will be no afternoon Pre-K classes.
