911coordinators from all over New York State attended training sessions, business seminars, and mingled with vendors over the three days. Senator Patty Ritchie was one of the featured speakers. The 911 Coordinators Association holds the conference twice a year, and this spring was Oswego’s turn to host.
Even a little rain couldn’t keep members of SAF (Services to Aid Families) and the community from the 12th Victim’s Rights Tree Planting Ceremony recently. Every year, the ceremony takes place in a different community in Oswego County. This year’s tree was planted outside the Hannibal Town Hall.
UPDATE: No injuries were reported however the single family residence sustained heavy fire, water and smoke damage. At 1:17 a.m. May 11 the Oswego Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 215 Duer St. on the east side of the city. About 15 minutes into the incident all interior crews were pulled from the structure due to deteriorating conditions.
The Oswego community has rallied around the effort to provide a safe and secure environment for those students attending the annual prom. Saturday night, the annual Oswego High School prom was scheduled and once again the SADD Club, advisors and community organizations and businesses have come together to promote the post prom party.

The Granby Lake Neatahwanta Reclamation Committee will host a chicken barbeque fundraiser Saturday at the Granby Community Center on County Route 8 in Fulton.
The event will begin at noon and wrap up at 3 p.m.
Vice Chairman Kevin Gardner was voted the legislature’s new leader with Terry Wilbur receiving the nod to fill Gardner’s former post. Also, James Weatherup was sworn in the fill Fred Beardsley’s vacated seat in District 9.
