To celebrate the importance of immunizations throughout life – and make sure children are protected with all the vaccines they need – the Oswego County Health Department is proudly participating in National Immunization Awareness Month.

Steven Sears, 40, of Phoenix, was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said. The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating the driver of the vehicle. According to witnesses, the driver fled because he was drunk and could not have another DWI.
The LT-5 tugboat, docked at the H. Lee White Marine Museum in Oswego, is a National Historic Landmark because of its brave acts during World War II. The league’s coaches and players have come together this season to help one of their own. At this weekend’s championship game, $1,300 was donated to Makayla Walker and her family. The funds will help defray her medical expenses as she battles an abdominal desmoid tumor so aggressive – it’s classified as a cancer.
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, a division of SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations, will celebrate 40 years in Oswego County with a recognition luncheon Sept. 5. The event, titled “Volunteers Are the Heart and Soul of the Community,” will take place at SUNY Oswego’s Hewitt Union.
