The man who guided his football team through a tragedy is the new assistant principal at Fulton’s G. Ray Bodley High School. The Fulton Board of Education approved the hiring of Jeffrey Charles Tuesday night.
He was the head coach of the team when one of his players, Ridge Barden, collapsed on the field last year during a game against Homer and died.

On Sunday, a group of local Oswego paddlers along with visiting paddlers were exploring the historic Battle Island area of the Oswego River. The “bloater” fish, a deepwater cisco, was re-introduced into Lake Ontario offshore of Oswego, bringing the fish back to the lake for the first time in nearly 30 years. The historic action is the first of its kind in the Great Lakes and is the culmination of several years of collaborative laboratory, hatchery and field research.
The recommendation from the parking committee deals with alternate street parking, the councilor explained. The proposal is, beginning Dec. 1 (at the discretion of the mayor and if weather conditions warrant) alternate side of the street parking restriction is imposed.
