Golden Experience for OHS Buccaneer Bulletin Staff

Claudia Strong, ESSPA workshop presenter, said, “The Buccaneer Bulletin looks more professional than many professional newspapers that I have seen in my career.”

Sheriff Todd joins NYS Sheriffs’ Institute, state officials and others to announce technology to keep victims of domestic violence, other crimes safe

The Statewide Automated Victim Information and Notification Network-New York system allows victims of domestic violence and other crimes to register through NY-ALERT (www.nyalert.gov) to receive notifications of service 24 hours a day, seven days a week, via text message, e-mail, fax, automated phone call, web query or iAlertz, a free application for the iPhone or iPad.

Fulton Moves Ahead With Plans to Annex Granby Land into the City

Mayor Ron Woodward signs the resolution that tells the state there is no environmental impact from the proposed annexation of land from Granby. City Clerk/Chamberlain Jim Laboda is in the background.Fulton city lawmakers Tuesday decided to keep moving forward with plans to take land from the town of Granby over the town’s objections.  Two votes, on an environmental declaration and on a petition to the state to allow the annexation, were unanimous.  The battle begins, and could end up in a state court.

Small Electrical Fire Reported at NMP Unit 1

“Nine Mile Point declared an Unusual Event at 7:01 p.m. on October 22 in accordance with our procedures due to an equipment fire (electrical panel) that was not able to be confirmed extinguished within 15 minutes,” according to Jill Lyon, Constellation Energy Nuclear Group spokesperson. “We confirmed that the fire was extinguished at 7:08 p.m. and Nine Mile Point exited the Unusual Event at 7:32 p.m.”

Oswego Council Approves Law To Exceed State Tax Cap

The council and mayor pointed out a tax hike isn’t necessarily imminent in the Port City. This was just a precautionary measure, they said. Under the local law, if the city inadvertently exceeds the state’s figure, they won’t be penalized, the council president explained. And if the state mandates force the city budget over the cap, they have more options than cutting services to deal with it.
