Governor Cuomo Wednesday signed legislation sponsored by Senator Patty Ritchie, that boosts state payments to counties, including Oswego, to help in the fight against EEE, West Nile Virus and other mosquito-borne diseases.

Nearly 70 people packed the Council Chamber Wednesday night for a town hall meeting with the Oswego Common Council. Comments focused on many quality of life issues. Several speakers gave the council suggestions for improving the city, including increasing the amount for fines regarding zoning and other violations.
The average temperature last month was 1.4 degrees above average. And, it is the first month since January where we have had above average precipitation.
Many of the students in the Fulton Junior High School were not even born in April of 1999 when the unthinkable happened. On September 28, the Oswego City Police Department responded to a 911 dispatch for a burglary in progress at a private residence. Upon their arrival, a neighbor told police they observed two people enter the residence
while the owner was not there.
As a result of continued investigations into the alleged possession and sales of illegal drugs in the city of Oswego area, the Oswego City Police Department is announcing the following arrest: On Sunday September 30, at about 8:30 p.m. the Oswego City Police Department’s Anti-Crime Team executed a search warrant at 230 W. Seneca St.
The suspect is facing weapons charges as well as drug charges and endangering the welfare of a child
