Fatal Accident Reported In Town Of Oswego
UPDATE: Oswego County Sheriff’s investigators have released the identity of the driver involved in a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on Thursday in the Town of Oswego.
The accident happened on West Fifth Street Road in the town of Oswego. The driver of the vehicle was the lone occupant and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The investigation is continuing.
Oswego County Drug Task Force Announces Two Arrests
The Oswego County Drug Task Force conducted a joint six-month investigation with the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET) and the City of Fulton Police Department. Two Fulton residents were arrested as a result of the investigation.
Oswego Council Moves Ahead With Plans For Summer Events
Beth Hilton, executive director of the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce dominated the agenda. Councilors OK’d plans for the July 4th parade, farmers’ market and other activities.

Schumer: Unwise Cuts Would Be Giant Step Backwards For Patient Care In Upstate NY
U.S. Senator Charles Schumer called on Congress to reject legislation that would cut Medicare funding for Upstate NY hospital clinics by $494 million over the next 10 years. The impact to Oswego Hospital would be $2,076,000, according to the senator’s figures.
Car Crashes Into Building In Mexico
UPDATE: The operator of the vehicle was identified as 34-year-old Leif T. Adkins from 3567 Lincoln Highway in Kinzers, Pa. The investigation is on-going and charges are pending.
A vehicle crashed into the Mexico Village Hall earlier this afternoon. The driver has been hospitalized; his injuries don’t appear life-threatening, authorities said. The vehicle was reportedly stolen.
BirdsEye Plant Could Soon Have New Owner
There has been a significant amount of interest in the facility, county legislators were told this week. Presently, there is a pretty high level of interest from at least two companies.
