A person living in the home woke up and saw the burglar standing in the living room. The intruder ran out a back door.
But the resident described the clothing the burglar was wearing, and within minutes, police found the person they think broke into the home.
At about 1 a.m. Wednesday, Fulton Police responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a residence located in the 1000 block of Cayuga Street. A suspect was caught a short time later.
Wednesday was rain-free. Today is a different story.
Brookfield Renewable Power announces that it has implemented enhanced safety tools and warnings for anglers who recreate on or near the company’s Varick Hydropower Dam on the Oswego River. These new tools and warnings supplement the already existing system of warnings, which included signage and a Fishermen’s Alert System, among other features.
The United Way of Greater Oswego County kicked off its 2011 – 2012 campaign Wednesday at The American Foundry citing a need for immediate assistance. Troopers, along with members of the U. S. Marshall’s Service and the State Police Computer Crime Unit, searched the home of William J. Knopp Wednesday. They allege that they found several pictures and videos of children under age 16 engaged in various sex acts.
Fulton schools opened a little more full than they were a year ago.
There were 3,667 students in classrooms throughout the district on opening day this year. That’s up 68 from last year, according to Executive Director of Instruction and Assessment Betsy Conners.
Hannibal’s Board of Education meets Wednesday night at 7:15. The board will likely vote to change the spring break week because of the state’s late decision to schedule some state tests right in the middle of the week that’s already been scheduled. 10:50 PM: Results are finally complete: Ron Woodward has won the Republican primary for Mayor, beating Common Council member Tom Kenyon 361-229 in unofficial results.
Woodward got about 60% of the votes while Kenyon took about 39%. There were 3 write-in votes recorded.
Kenyon will be on the ballot in November as the Conservative Party’s endorsed candidate. An independent candidate, Ralph Stacy, Jr., will also run.
In the other primary in the city, Alan Emrich beat Woodward’s son, Ryan, in the race for the Republican endorsement to run for Common Council in the 1st Ward.
