There was no rain and plenty of sun for Mother’s Day. And, the rest of the week looks about the same, only a tad warmer.
Oswego Councilors To Consider Moving Ahead With Improvements For McCrobie Civic Center
The Common Council is expected to vote on resolution Monday night to approve certain restoration work for the historic landmark. Grant funding won’t cover the entire project. So, only parts will be done currently.

Fulton’s Envirothon team takes first place in the county competition and now has to gear up for the state battle. Also, April was the rainiest ever, and the track team gets a split decision.

Linde Opens Carbon Dioxide Plant in Volney with Big Celebration
The decision to build an ethanol plant near Fulton paid another small dividend this week with the official launch of Linde North America’s carbon dioxide plant.
Thursday, company officials and the plant’s tiny staff hosted tours and a catered celebration to mark the company’s opening.

Memories Of The May 2001 Oompa’s Pizzeria Block Fire
May 7 marks the 10th anniversary of one of the Port City’s worst fires. The inferno devastated nearly the entire block on the north side of West Bridge Street between Third and Fourth streets. The smoke and flames were so intense at one point it prompted a firefighter to exclaim, “This must be what hell looks like.”
