Police Arrest Two For Tampering With Food

Fulton police concluded their investigation into a complaint of food tampering at a local restaurant, making two arrests. Philip F. Dunbar, 30, and Jeremy M. Hankey, 25, both of Fulton, were charged with single counts of third-degree criminal tampering for allegedly spitting into food that was served to a police officer at McDonalds in Fulton. Both are due back in Fulton City Court Dec. 4.

Former Oswego County Sheriff Charles F. Nellis died Saturday morning at this home in Parish. Nellis served as Oswego County Sheriff from 1984 through 1998, retiring after four terms in office. Those who worked with him remember Nellis as honest and fair, with a great sense of humor and a compassionate side for children and those less fortunate.

City Looks To Take Over Firefighters’ Museum

According to a tentative resolution, the city would add the museum to its insurance policy for property insurance and would be responsible for liability coverage under the city’s self insurance program. The museum’s board of directors and Benevolent Association of Firefighters would continue to maintain insurance on the contents of the building.

Police Charge Mexico Man In Connection With Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash

Members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office have arrested Alexander D. Naugle, 21, of 319 West Stone Road, Mexico, charging him with three misdemeanor counts of first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child, a class-A misdemeanor. Police said the arrest is the result of the ongoing investigation of a traffic fatality that occurred on West Stone Road in the town of New Haven Nov. 11.

Clock Ticking On County Budget

A month remains before Oswego County lawmakers are required to seal a budget for the coming year. Before that happens, the public and the Legislature will have their say on the plan. The county will host its annual public hearing on the budget Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. After the hearing, the Legislature will have an opportunity to debate potential changes to the spending plan.
