Masonry Expert To Explain Fort Ontario’s Construction and the History of Masonry

Masonry fort historian and expert John R. Weaver II will lead a technical tour of Fort Ontario, identifying and interpreting key elements in the fort’s design and construction, at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 28. he Oswego County Health Department reported today (Aug. 20) that seven new mosquito samples located in the village of Central Square and the towns of West Monroe, Hastings and Constantia have tested positive for the Eastern equine encephalitis virus. Oswego County plans to conduct aerial spraying of approximately 10,000 acres in portions of the towns of Hastings, West Monroe and Constantia this evening.

Aerial spraying of the Toad Harbor Big Bay Swamp area in Oswego County is cancelled this evening, Monday, Aug. 19, due to weather conditions. The county has also received notice from the state Department of Health that a second horse, this one in the town of Amboy, has died of the Eastern equine encephalitis virus.
