Barlow Proposes $80,000 for Residential Sidewalk Replacement Program

In 2016, the city, under Mayor Barlow’s direction, accepted the responsibility to repair and replace sidewalks in front of residential properties, a task previously left to property owners, and have since been allocating additional resources annually to conduct as many repairs as possible to process the large backlog of requests generated over the last several years.

UPDATE – Woman’s Body Discovered — No Suspicious Activity Suspected

UPDATE: Preliminary investigations do not lead us to believe there was any suspicious activity, Police Chief Tory DeCaire said. But, with the conditions that we faced and the location of the body, we are following all of the necessary steps to confirm this, he added.At approximately 9:51 a.m. today, July 9, the Oswego City Police Department responded to a call of a deceased female in the lake off of Mercer Street between East Ninth Street and East 10th Street in the city of Oswego. Oswego Police are investigating the incident.

Marc Copani has been named the new Fulton Junior High School principal. Effective July 1, Copani transitioned from his assistant principalship at G. Ray Bodley High School to FJHS, where he said he is thrilled to be able to help increase successful pathways to graduation for Fulton’s middle school students.

Federal Funds Flow Into New Haven

U.S. Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer and U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand today (July 3) announced $1,400,000 in federal funding for the town of New Haven. The funding is administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Grant Program and will be used to create a new water system and expand residential access to potable water.
