Oswego Speedway’s 2019 season will come to a close this Labor Day Weekend with the 63rd Budweiser International Classic Weekend featuring Novelis Supermodifieds, Pathfinder Bank SBS, 350 Supermodifieds, ISMA Supermodifieds, and more.

At its meeting Monday night, the Common Council unanimously passed “a rather boring budget.” The council voted 6-0-1 (Councilor Ron Tesoriero was excused) to approve Mayor Billy Barlow’s 2020 proposed budget. The spending plan for 2020 holds the line on taxes, calling for no increases to any taxes or fees, the mayor said Monday night.

U.S. Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer and U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand today August 22, announced $571,267 in federal funding for the Workforce Development Institute, part of the AFL-CIO. Specifically, the funding will go towards creating and implementing workforce training programs in the production of wood and paper products.

The preliminary investigation has revealed, 30-year-old Thomas J. Drinkwine from Liverpool was operating a 1999 Buick Regal southbound on Route 57 when he left the roadway due to texting, police said.

Mayor Billy Barlow announces the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau will host Bingo Day at St. Francis Commons to honor Grandparents Day on Sunday, September 8 at 2 p.m. Bingo Day is a collaboration between the city and St. Francis Commons allowing for children to travel to St. Francis to play bingo with the residents.
