DPW Chief Proposes Standardizing Oswego’s Hydrants

The Port City has many fire hydrants. Some of them are the same; many aren’t the same. And there are some that are almost the same – but not quite. At Monday night’s Administrative Services Committee meeting, Tom Kells, Commissioner of Public Works, recommended standardizing the purchase of all fire hydrants within the city through the manufacturer Kennedy Valve.

Oswego County Will Offer Mental Health Clinics In Local Schools

Beginning in September, school-based satellite mental health clinics will be available to students in three Oswego County school districts, County Legislator Roy Reehil, chairman of the Legislature’s Human Services Committee, announced. The school-based mental health clinic services plan being developed by the County Division of Mental Hygiene will allow school districts throughout the county to partner with community mental health agencies to provide clinical mental health services.

Plane Crashes In Fulton, Pilot Survives

A small, single-engine, private plane flying south from Malone to Oswego lost engine power just miles short of the airport, attempted to glide into Fulton, grazed a utility pole with its right wing, flipped upside-down and 180 degrees around, and crashed onto a relatively quiet and wide-open section of North 4th Street in front of Stevens Auto Store this afternoon at 3:24, according to police.
