Oswego Health will hold multi-blood analysis events in both Oswego and Central Square later this year. The Oswego blood analysis will be held from 6:30 to 10 a.m. August 3 at Leighton Elementary School, located at 1 Buccaneer Blvd. The Central Square event will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. September 14 at the Central Square Medical Center, located at 3045 East Ave. in the village.
Oswego Health was pleased to have four of its employees among those honored as one of Oswego County Business Magazine’s Forty Under 40. The Forty Under 40 event recognizes 40 individuals under the age of 40 who are making a positive impact on Oswego County.
Members of the Oswego Health Auxiliary made a $50,000 donation to the health system during the group’s May meeting. Oswego Health celebrated May as healthcare month and this generous donation made during the health system’s annual celebration that recognizes its staff as well as the offered excellent healthcare services, ensures they will continue to be available locally.
While Oswego Hospital staff members hope to never execute the skills they learned during an emergency drill, they are prepared. Oswego Hospital recently held a mass casualty drill to evaluate the staff and facility’s response capabilities to a potential terrorist attack. The scenario for this fictitious event included numerous improvised explosive (IEDs) devices being detonated at a sporting event.
More than 75 youngsters were properly fit with a new bike helmet by staff from Oswego Hospital’s emergency room at the recent Fulton Bike Rodeo. The participating staff members, who are certified to fit helmets, are committed to reducing the incidents of head injuries resulting from bike and skateboard accidents.
Oswego Health staff members offered several hands-on learning opportunities at the recent Fairgrieve Elementary School Health and Science Fair. The students and their family members that attended the event could view actual medical images of various body parts and learn more about the services the radiology department provides to the community.
