Fort Ontario in Oswego County has played a significant role in our nation’s history dating back to the French and Indian War in the 1750s, through the end of World War II when its ownership was transferred to New York State.

Throughout our region exist hidden treasures that locals know about and would become “must visits” for people across the state, and even the nation, if only more people knew about them.

Across our region, the sun and warmth are providing people with plenty of reasons to head outside and enjoy the weather. From fishing and boating to hiking and camping, there is no shortage of fun things to do outdoors in our region.

Our nation’s veterans are heroes and each of them has a story to tell about what they have experienced as defenders of our freedom. Throughout the years, I have been humbled to have the opportunity to hear the stories of so many of our local heroes through my “Veterans Voices” program.
