State Senator Patty Ritchie is encouraging her constituents throughout Jefferson, St. Lawrence and Oswego Counties to make their voices heard on a number of key issues facing New York State by taking part in her 2020 Legislative Survey.

It was during the Great Depression when then President Franklin Roosevelt created a program known as the Civilian Conservation Corps or “CCC,” an effort intended to engage young men in conservation work across the nation.

From Thanksgiving to Christmas, for most people, the holiday season is jam packed. Whether it is decorating, traveling, shopping for gifts or getting together with family and friends, there is a lot going on this time of year.

Every so often, I will receive a phone call in my office from someone in our region looking to preserve a part of his or her community’s history. Whether it is a well-known historical figure, landmark or place of a historically important event, ensuring the future knows what makes our towns and villages so special, is important.
