Oswego Kartway will open for its first racing action of the 2015 season on May 1 with a non-point warm-up race to get the new season under way. Kartway officials have been hard at work this season laying in brand new bleachers on the pit area side of the Kartway as well as a new grid area and raceway entrance, plus settling out some ten truckloads of new clay on the racing surface.
Oswego Speedway’s Entergy/Price Chopper Kids on Track program is ready to take the green flag for the 2015 racing season. This year’s Kids on Track signup forms are now available on the Oswego Speedway website and will also be available at Saturday’s open practice session, running from 1-5 p.m.
All divisions competing at Oswego Speedway in 2015 including the Race of Champions Asphalt Modifies Series, the International Supermodified Association, the NEMA Midgets, ATQMRA TQ Midgets and of course the Novelis Supermodifieds and Pathfinder Bank Small Block Supers are welcome to participate in the four-hour long open test session.
Billy Decker started his defense of his 2014 Modified Super DIRTcar Series Championship in a big way Saturday night at the Fulton Speedway by winning the 100-Lap ‘Highbank Holdup’ series race. Matt Sheppard who lost the title last season by six points finished second. Danny Johnson came from 27th to finish third. Jimmy Phelps and Tim Fuller rounded out the top five.

Many thought it would never happen, but the snow is gone and the sun has found its way to the blue skies of Fulton. With warmer weather bringing people outside after this long winter, Fulton city softball sets sights on their upcoming season. The deadline to register a team for the spring season is Friday (April 24), at noon.
Fulton Speedway track management has cancelled Friday night’s portion of ‘Highbank Holdup’ weekend. All systems are go, however, for the big Highbank Holdup on Saturday. On Saturday, led by Defending Tracey Road Equipment Modified Track Champion Larry Wight and Defending Modified Super DIRTcar Series Champion Billy Decker, the Fulton Speedway stars will be locked and loaded to defend home turf in a 100-Lap SDS battle royal against series outsiders.
When Oswego Speedway goes green flag racing for the 65th consecutive season on May 9, the Novelis Supermodifieds and Pathfinder Bank SBS will be joined by the Race of Champions Asphalt Modifies Series Richie Evans Memorial. The tripleheader will serve as a blockbuster opener for the ‘Steel Palace’ with 155 laps of green flag feature action taking place, presented by Planet Fitness and Mitchell’s Speedway Press.
The annual Spruce-Up Day will again begin at 10 a.m., a two-hour change from the previous 8 a.m. start in years passed. Among the tasks on hand will be re-painting heat race victory lane, touching up the start/finish line stripe on the main straightaway, as well as cleaning up the walkway leading to the Speedway’s main entrance.
