The Oswego State men’s ice hockey team advanced to the championship game of the PathFinder Bank/Oswego State Hockey Classic with a 4-2 victory over Tufts University on Friday night at the Marano Campus Center Arena. Oswego, which is ranked No. 4 in the latest D3hockey.com poll and No. 6 by USCHO, will face Nazareth College at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Oswego State women’s basketball dropped its first game of the new year, falling 79-58 in an away contest against Clarkson. With the loss, the Lakers go to 3-5 on the season.
The Oswego State men’s basketball team finished its play in the Land of Magic Classic with a 63-47 loss to Loras College on Monday night. With the loss, the Lakers drop to 6-3 on the season while the Duhawks go to 5-6.
New in 2015, Oswego Kartway will be adding a total of 10 Tuesday night ‘Test and Tune’ sessions to its schedule of events. The Tuesday night ‘Test and Tune’ sessions will be open to all weekly Oswego Kartway divisions, and will run from 6-8 p.m. beginning on May 5.
In what will be a dramatic lid lifter to Oswego’s 65th season, the Race of Champions Asphalt Modifieds will make its first trip to the Steel Palace in 2015 on May 9 joining Oswego’s Novelis Supermodifieds and Pathfinder Bank SBS for a three division show to open Oswego’s season featuring the Richie Evans Memorial 75 for the ground pounders.
The Oswego State men’s basketball team kept defensive pressure on all afternoon in an 82-43 win over Haverford College in a Land of Magic Classic contest held on Sunday in Daytona Beach, Fla. Oswego’s 39-point win is its largest margin of victory since it beat D’Youville College 122-72 in the opening game of the 2012-13 season.

Megan Holzwarth a Graphic Design major from Central Square was a member of the 2014 SUNY Oneonta women’s cross-country team. The team competed in eight meets this fall and finished in second place at the SUNYAC Championships and had its best finish of third place at the NCAA Atlantic Region Championships.
