The Oswego State women’s basketball team dropped Bay Path College in an 88-51 contest in the consolation game of the Max Ziel Tournament on Sunday. Oswego’s victory was the first of its season, improving to 1-1, while Bay Path fell to 0-2.

The No. 2 Oswego State men’s ice hockey team extended its win streak to five as it shutout Nazareth College 4-0 at the Marano Campus Center Arena on Saturday night. The win came in front of a nearly sold-out crowd that was beaming with hockey alumni celebrating the program’s 50th anniversary.

The Oswego State men’s basketball team took a heartbreaking 57-56 loss against Elmira College in the team’s home and season opener at Max Ziel Gymnasium on Saturday. Elmira hit a layup as time expired to secure the victory in the opening round of the Max Ziel Classic.

The Oswego State women’s basketball dropped its home and season-opener 67-61 to D’Youville College in the first round of the Max Ziel Tournament on Saturday evening in Max Ziel Gymnasium.

Caleb Sedore, a 6’10” center for the Pulaski Blue Devils basketball team, signed a letter of intent to play Division I basketball for the Lehigh University Mountain Hawks. In a special ceremony surrounded by a huge crowd of family and friends, Sedore committed to play for the Mountain Hawks and said the choice was easy for him citing the good relationship with the coaching staff and the team’s outlook for the future.

Leon Shapiro Motor Sales has announced they will again supply a Ram Truck as the Official Safety Truck & EMS Vehicle of Oswego Speedway in 2015. “Shapiro Motors has been proud to support Oswego Speedway’s effort on safety for competitors and spectators for over two decades by supplying an official vehicle each racing season,” said Todd Shapiro, third generation dealer.

Kara Nipper of Phoenix and the rest of the Paul Smith’s College women’s volleyball team bested the previously undefeated Unity College, three sets to two, in a hard-fought battle for the Yankee Small College Conference championship.
