Oswego Kartway was greeted with beautiful blue skies last Friday and a total of 81 kart racers ready to take on the tight ‘Bullring’ clay oval presented by GS Steamers Bar & Grill of Oswego.
The second richest race in all of Supermodified racing, next to the Budweiser International Classic 200, will take the green flag this Saturday night at Oswego Speedway as the title of Mr. Novelis Supermodified is on the line with a hefty prize of $10,000 awaiting the winner.
The deadline for this year’s nominations for the Oswego High School Athletic Hall of Fame is a few months away. Since its inception the Hall of Fame has seen team and individual champions, coaches and contributors recognized. For nearly 160 years Oswego athletics has been an integral part if the Oswego City School District.
Racing will return next Saturday, August 3 as Tracey Road Equipment presents a night of family, affordable, fun, racing. On the race card will be the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, NAPA Late Models, E&V Energy Novice Sportsman and Four Cylinder Stocks.
While Oswego Speedway is closed for racing action this Saturday due to the annual Harborfest Weekend, Oswego Kartway will continue as planned on Friday night with GS Steamers Bar & Grill Night at the Races.
Upon visual inspection, and testing on the LJL/Kevlar engine dyno, Janczuk’s engine has been deemed legal by GM 602 Crate Engine specs and returned to the race team.

Otto Sitterly started Saturday’s Race of Champions 100-lap main event, the first Supermodified 100 run at the Speedway since 2005, from the 9th position but rode steady just inside the top five for the majority of the event.
Everyone in attendance Saturday night at the Fulton Speedway left talking about what they saw in the Modified and Sportsman features in what is being called the best races of the 2013 season to date.
