Oswego State men’s basketball senior forward Hayden Ward continues to haul in the hardware following the 2012-13 season, as he was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-America Third Team.

The Oswego State men’s lacrosse team (5-0) took a 6-0 halftime lead and never looked back, as the Lakers handed Misericordia its first loss of the season in a 11-4 decision Wednesday afternoon.

The Oswego State baseball team (7-3) used a strong offensive attack in the late innings to pull away and secure a 9-4 win over Hope (2-3) on Wednesday. Oswego State improved to 5-2 overall on the team’s Spring Break road trip.

The Oswego State softball team (3-7) closed out its Spring Break softball trip with an 8-5 victory over Lawrence and a 7-5 loss to Hope on Tuesday. Tori Trovato (Fr., Fulton, N.Y.) fell a single short of hitting a cycle against Hope, as she posted a double, a triple and a homerun.

The program, which is geared toward young race fans aged 5-16, is once again free for the 2013 season and will again include benefits such as weekly giveaways and prizes as well as track tours and other special promotions.

Senior Paul Rodrigues of Oswego State has been voted as the USCHO D-III Player of the Year for 2012-2013. Rodrigues beat out UW-Eau Claire goalie Brandon Stephenson and teammate Luke Moodie for the award.

The Florida Panthers have announced that former Oswego State men’s ice hockey player Eric Selleck has been recalled from the San Antonio Rampage (AHL) to the NHL. Selleck is believed to be the first Laker player to appear in a NHL contest.

Another day in the books for the Oswego State baseball team (6-3) on its Spring Break trip yielded a split in a doubleheader against Vassar (4-1) on Monday.
