The 2013 racing season saw the green flag this past weekend during the Gater Racing News Motorsports Expo at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse.

Cody Hoose (So., Syracuse, N.Y.) turned in a hat trick and tallied an assist in his hometown, as the Oswego State men’s lacrosse team (2-0) defeated Adrian (2-2) at Le Moyne College in Syracuse on Saturday afternoon.

The Eastern College Athletic Conference has announced that Oswego State senior men’s basketball forward Hayden Ward and senior women’s basketball forward Meagan Stover have been received ECAC Division III Upstate recognition.

Thanks to Dennis Beaudette and Industrial Tire of CNY, the SUNY Canton Sportsman will compete for the richest sportsman purse ever at the Fulton Speedway.

Oswego Speedway’s racers will once again put it all on the line for a little something extra in 2013. The weekly Hard Charger and Up & Comer Awards will be back for this coming racing season with the help of D&S Landscaping, Nice Price Auto Sales, and the Lighthouses Lanes bowling center in Oswego.

With the game tied at seven heading into the fourth quarter, senior attack Casey Balzer (Nassau, N.Y.) reeled off three goals to propel the Oswego State men’s lacrosse team (1-0) to a 10-7 win over Utica (1-1) Wednesday afternoon.
