When you looked back at the 2011 season at the Brewerton Speedway, it was a season to remember in the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifieds. For years the “D-Shaped Dirt Demon” has been known to have one of the toughest fields of cars anywhere in the Northeast.

In a low-scoring affair, the Oswego State softball team (10-19, 4-8 SUNYAC) did not produce the timely hits when they were needed as the Lakers fell 2-1 and 5-0 to Plattsburgh on Friday
The Oswego girls’ varsity lacrosse team is undefeated thus far while the girls’ golf team continues to excel. Meanwhile, the softball team has proven extremely competitive while in track and field there are several athletes chalking up solid individual efforts.
The reigning SUNYAC Pitcher of the Week did his best to win the award again as Oswego State (15-18, 6-8 SUNYAC) and Plattsburgh (17-15, 8-9) split a doubleheader at Laker Baseball Field on Friday.
The Oswego State softball team (10-17) posted a six-run fifth inning in game one to win, 9-1, but was unable to come up with the sweep of Nazareth (8-22) after dropping the second game, 4-2, Thursday afternoon.
Girl Scouts of all ages are invited to enjoy an evening of family fun at the Fulton Speedway on May 12. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the races start at 7 p.m. Those attending can meet and greet Sportsman Modified Drivers Katelyn Kane and Beth Schneider beginning at 5 p.m. in the grandstands.
