Mother’s Day weekend will be an extra special one at the Fulton Speedway for the area Girl Scouts as they will have a meet and greet with Fulton’s two female Sportsman Modified drivers, Katelyn Kane and Beth Schneider.

After playing two of the best teams in Section III, the Oswego High School varsity boys’ lacrosse team hosted Utica Proctor on Saturday. The Bucs simply overmatched the visiting team as OHS walked off with a 23-2 victory.

The Oswego State softball team kept pace in the league standings with a pair of wins over Potsdam on a cold Sunday afternoon at Laker Softball Field. The Lakers posted a 9-6 come-from-behind win in the first game and carried the momentum into the nightcap en route to an 8-0 win in six innings on Senior Day.

Plattsburgh scored five runs in the top of the eighth inning for a 13-10 come-from-behind win over Oswego State on Sunday. The win clinched a spot in the SUNYAC playoffs for the Cardinals, but still gives the Lakers a chance for a playoff spot as well.

The Oswego State men’s lacrosse team found itself facing an early eight-goal deficit en route to a 15-10 loss to Oneonta Saturday afternoon. The Lakers outscored the Red Dragons by three goals in the final three quarters, but the gap was too large to overcome.
