County Recognizes Inv. Ella Brown on Her Retirement

The Oswego County Legislature’s Public Safety and Emergency Services Committee recently recognized Ella Brown on her retirement by presenting her with a certificate of appreciation for 20 years of dedicated service. Brown began her career with the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office as a patrol officer and was later promoted to the rank of criminal investigator. Brown was the second female officer hired by the department and has the unique distinction of being the first woman to hold a higher rank and the first to retire as an officer. During her tenure, Brown was recognized for her skills in crisis negotiations and her excellence in interrogation and interview. She took on a leadership role as a senior investigator, coaching both uniformed and criminal investigator personnel.
